Angier, North Carolina claims nearly two square-miles at the northern tip of scenic Harnett County.  Located in south-central North Carolina, Harnett County and its patchwork of communities lie partially within the Piedmont Triad and partially within the Coastal Plain.

This vibrant town, known for its stunning display of crepe myrtles, has experienced significant growth in recent years.  According to the 2000 Census, the population of Angier was 3,419 residents.

Angier treats residents to an unparalleled quality of life.  Affordable real estate, a refreshingly mild climate, top-notch schools and proximity to nearby urban amenities make Angier the perfect environment in which to live.  In addition, Angier residents rest well in the knowledge that their crime rates fall well below those of NC’s average.

Residents have access to thirteen colleges within a one-hour drive of Harnett County.  These facilities include three well-known research universities: Duke University in Durham, North Carolina State University in Raleigh and the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.  Other fine choices include Campbell University in Buies Creek, Meredith College and Shaw University, both of which are in Raleigh.

The Cape Fear River flows from the northwest to the southeast and serves as a precious commodity to a large portion of NC residents.  Among its many roles to the community, the Cape Fear River provides fresh water, acts as the main drainage system in the region and provides numerous recreational activities for area visitors and residents.

Angier is currently one of Harnett County’s fastest growing areas and is a bedroom community of the highly acclaimed Research Triangle Park, only an hour’s drive away.  Local businesses continue to experience growth in both size and quantity, paving the way to a booming local economy sure to last for generations to come.  Angier lies nine miles north of Lillington, the county seat, and twenty miles south of Raleigh, NC’s capital city.  Commuters have convenient access to major highways such as Interstate 40 and North Carolina 210.

Angier is home to a number of civic groups, which frequently host events for the community.  The Angier Chamber organizes annual events throughout the year, such as the spring Crepe Myrtle Golf Tournament, the summer Motorcycle Fest, the stunning autumn Crepe Myrtle Festival and the Christmas Parade in winter.  Popular destinations in and around Angier include the Clemmons Educational State Forest, the North Carolina Museum of Art and the Raven Rock State Park.  Raven Rock State Park, found in Lillington, features eleven miles of hiking trails, seven miles of bridle trails and facilities for camping and picnicking.

Angier, North Carolina is a model community in which to live and work.  Despite the tremendous development, Angier remains a friendly, close-knit community.
